Ghanaian songwriter and recording artist, Darkovibes after his ground breaking single ‘Mercy’ is set to release two new music videos; one for ‘Mercy’ and ‘Tomorrow, in coming weeks.
The budding rapper is one of the few very magnificent individuals making waves in the industry. With his music career dating back to 2014, Darkovibes has been pushing hard to get to where he has gotten to currently. Darkovibes unlike his peers sings and raps in the Ga language which is not readily accepted in our industry. However, after creating a threesome between Ga, Twi, and English, he managed to break into the industry.
He is popularly known for his 2016 hit single, ‘Mercy’ which incorporates English and local rap over Hip-Hop trap beat. ‘Mercy’ sees Darkovibes talking about how he needs Gods abundant protection to carry on till the end that he won’t be a burden to none.
‘Tomorrow’ produced by Kuvie, sees Darkovibes talking about how he needs his partner by him through the hard times. As a token of his appreciation, he’d get her expensive things to soothe her pain: ”Here’s a tissue for your tears oh baby/We nor go finish like this I promise you/Ma he tsorne ma hã bo (I’d buy a car for you)/Stick with me”.
Barely a year in the Ghana music industry, his hardwork, determination and dedication earned him a spot on Edem’s monster Hip-Hop song ‘Egboame’ alongside other young brilliant rappers such as AYAT, Mac M, Medikal, Gemini, Cabum, Bebelino and Teephlow which earned him a major recognition, including a VGMA nomination in 2017 for his feature.
He also worked with telecommunications giant MTN by writing and performing the theme song for the MTN pulse campaign.
His most recent work is a feature off Joey B’s ”Darryl” EP titled ‘Ranger’ which is topping charts on Apple Music and recently a feature on Magnom’s EP “We Speed”.
Darkovibes has also received a lot praise from mainstream acts including sensational singer, Sarkodie, Mr Eazi, Efya, Edem, Magnom, Joey B and few others who have described him as an exceptional talent
